Ingredients

Since there aren’t many ingredients, quality ingredients are the key to preparing delicious roasted potatoes. The following is a list of things you’ll need, and the recipe card should be used for exact amounts:

Yukon Gold potatoes: cut into uniformly sized, 1/2-inch chunks with the skins on. Scrubbed.

Extra virgin olive oil of high quality is recommended for roasting.

Use kosher salt to sprinkle on top just before serving and fine sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper for roasting.

We use unsalted butter for this. Spread butter that has been cut into small pieces over the potatoes.

An optional yet lovely garnish is parsley.

How to Cook Potatoes in the Oven

This is one of the simplest potato dishes once your ingredients are prepared.

Prepare the potatoes by cutting them into bite-sized pieces between 12″ and 3″ in size. If possible, make sure to cut them all the same thickness. They will roast evenly if done this way. After cutting the potatoes into pieces, put the pieces in a big bowl. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and olive oil.Roasted Potatoes

Arrange — Spread the seasoned potatoes out on a parchment-lined 13 x 18-inch baking sheet. Lay them out flat-side down in a single layer. Put some butter over the top.

Griddle the Potatoes – For about 25 to 30 minutes, or until the bottoms are brown, bake at 425°F. When the potatoes are crisp and tender, flip them over and bake them for an additional 15-20 minutes. Americas Best Wings

Typical Questions

Do potatoes need to be boiled before roasting?

As with mashed potatoes, several roasted potato recipes call for parboiling the potatoes first. With this recipe, I’ve never found the need to parboil. In any case, the potatoes come out wonderfully crispy.

How do you make roast potatoes crispy?

Tossing the potatoes in olive oil and roasting them with butter over high heat is the secret to the recipe’s crisp, melted potatoes.

My roast potatoes stick, why?

Use parchment paper or a non-stick baking sheet to line the pan. Additionally, be careful not to flip your potatoes too soon because doing so can also make them sticky.

Which is preferable for roasting potatoes: glass or metal?

Metal pans, in my opinion, work best for roasting potatoes. Metal pans are more resistant to sticking and can sustain higher heat.

Make-Ahead

The great thing about this recipe is that the roasted potatoes reheat beautifully, allowing you to duplicate it and use it to prepare meals for the week.

In an airtight container, chilled potatoes can be kept in the fridge for 3 to 5 days.

Roasted potatoes are simple to reheat. Reheat in the oven, air fryer, or in a pan on the stovetop until hot and

re-crisped for the crispiest results. You can microwave them, but the crispiness will be lost.

Cold leftover roasted potatoes are also excellent for making potato salad or tossing over crisp green salads.
